Saturday 13 December: Network Rail have advised us that work to improve the crossing will be taking place. Dates are not yet known.
The work will require the decking to be taken up, which will make crossing with wheelbarrows (and bicycles?) impossible. Network Rail have agreed with the Council that our use of the crossing will continue. They have also said that they will have look-outs to assist our use, but when and where these will be present is also left open.

27 January 2008: a big thank you to those who helped on Sunday morning with covering the hard-core at the Port Meadow entrance to the site. As many of you have seen, there was a lot of rutting there due to the soft ground. Twenty tons of hard-core were laid down, and this has now been largely covered with soil and grass seed. We hope that the grass will grow and cover the hard-core, providing a pleasant but firm surface for the future.
9 December 2007: there is a new section in Growing Tips about dealing with potato blight.
